Juniors – Summer League 2020/21
The Blue Gum Park TC offers Junior Pennants as an entry-level competition option for kids. Play a home & away season Sunday mornings during Summer 20/21 (term 4 + term1 – no matches in schools holidays). Please ask your coaches for directions regarding this. We hope to field as many teams as possible to represent Blue Gum Park TC.
Junior pennants provides the ideal entry point for kids who’ve received coaching and are ready for competition. It compliments their coaching, and we see a spike in their interest once they see the reason they are learning tennis.
We are keen for your child to participate but understand you will have questions so feel free to contact me as I’m happy to answer your queries.
Please note the nomination deadline is Friday 11th September so urgent action is required.

Adults Pre-Season League/Pennant Training
The Summer pre-season coach-supervised training sessions for adult pennant players will go ahead again Saturday’s from 1200-1330 starting Saturday 5th September. This squad format training is open to all adult pennant players and is the best opportunity to;
- Hit a lot of balls to be well prepped for the upcoming Summer season
- Learn singles and doubles tactics
- Play with a variety of players before the season has us breaking into respective teams
- Meet & socialise with other Club members creating a wonderful Club vibe
These training sessions will run every Saturday (5/9, 12/9, 19/9, 26/9 & 3/10) until the season starts. The cost is $10 per player which entitles you to attend up to all the sessions.
No need to register your interest. Just bring $10 with you the first time you come down.
Adults – Summer League 2020/21
The forms are due back on Sunday 30th August for Adult League for the upcoming season. Please remember that you must be a financial member of Blue Gum to nominate for a team.

Monday Night Tennis
The Monday night tennis programme, run by Bill Thomas, is a great way for all standards of players and the less experienced players are welcome. Contact Bill Thomas on [email protected]
Saturday Social Tennis
Our Opening Day will be on Saturday 10th October with the programme of the afternoon to be advised shortly. Casual and visitors are welcome ($15 for the afternoon) and the start time will be 1.30pm.
Winter Junior Pennants winners
Congratulations to our Juniors Boys U12 – Div 1 (vs Dalkeith) and Boys U14 – Div 2 (vs Dalkeith) for winning the winter pennants’ season.
Such a fantastic achievement considering we never thought we’d even get a season up and running. Well done kids!.
Winter Adult Pennants winners
Congratulations to the 3 Adult teams competing in the Winter finals last Saturday 29th August. Our ladies faced a tough opposition in Hensman Park and finished the day as runners up. Our Men’s Div 5 (vs Dalkeith) and Div 8 (vs North Perth) both had victories, with the Div 5 Men playing till dark. Great tennis everyone!
Tennis Excellence and Elanation
Tennis Excellence is part of a new app being run by Tennis Australia. It’s called Elanation and can be downloaded from your app store (https://elanation.link/4bs . It’s an incredible app for kids who love sport, want to learn more and a safe avenue for them to share their skills with their coaches and other kids. You can download and do a free 7 day trial at the moment, and if you do sign-up all kids are in the chance to receive a free exercise watch too. There is a cost of $5.99 per month once you are in the app, but it is totally worth it for the incredible amount of information that is on there.
You’ll notice Coach Elliot and Ace our mascot on their playing tennis. Join in the fun now. It works best for kids aged 7-12, but we’d love all of our Hotshots and Performance kids to give it a try.
